shocked I have one daughter and one on the way I would never ever disrespect my children by beating them. I did not bring them into the world to be beaten i bought them int this world out of love. Beating children is a form of bullying! I would never ever harm my child because I didnt like what they was doing. In western areas we discapline our children by telling them off, explaining why what they have done is worng, taking things off them that they enjoy. If I had my way anybody that beat a child would get the same done to them as they have done to that child, it is unfair and uncalled for, there is no need for it. How do you expect children to respect you if you are going to beat them. Its not right and unfair also known as child abuseangry

Hello Stafei! I am sorry that you were treated this way as a child. I believe it is wrong to beat a child or any other living creature for that matter.

It is quite possible for someone to learn without being beaten. Human beings do not have to be corrected with fear and violence. Especially children! They are very receptive and will aim to please if rewarded with affection and praise. Everything a child does is helping them to learn new things. A parent can correct misbehavior with positive reinforcement rather than negative and acheive better results. The parents must explain why the behavior is bad and impliment a punishment such as having the child sit in a corner for 5 minutes and then explaining why the behavior was wrong and apologizing. Once the child has apologized and explained why what he or she did was wrong, reward them with encouraging words and affection. You'd be suprised at how fast the child will learn. The parent must lead by example.

Why should a child have to live in fear of or feel hate for his or her own parent?

I will never strike my child. I believe it does much more harm than good. I want my child to feel safe with me, not fearful. I don't feel as though my child is meant to be treated as a possession. I don't wish to control them. I only have their best interest in mind and want to help them and teach them to be a respectful, ethical, and free thinking individual. Most of all I want my child to be happy. Hitting them is not a part of that.

There are several very effective ways to discipline a child without using physical violence! It is abuse! Children require love and guidance, not abuse and inequality. Just because they are a younger age does not make them lesser beings. They are not lesser, just less experienced and more vunerable. If anything, they need protection and guidance in the world. That is what parents are supposed to do. Who else? Why would you hurt something that is a part of yourself? Respect, love, and teach your child and they will grow to become outstanding adults. Lead with example and words, not abuse!

Hi Stafei, i'm sorry to know that you've that kind of treatment and teaching from your parents in your childhood. I personally do not think that is a wise way of teaching the children. It is good for parents to be strict and teach their children well but just that parents should not always just use the method of beating up their children. This will only make them feel irritated or even hate for their parents, and eventually they won't listen to every advice of their parents. Instead, parents should use both soft and hard methods in teaching their children. Proper advice and guidance is important to let their children know the real meaning and reason behind why they are not allowed to do so.

I believe that spanking with your hand is fine. You cannot always reason with a child. They will not always understand why you tell them to do or not do something. But you can teach them to obey. And an open hand spank is just the way to do it. It should not be the first option but it is still a very good one.

stafei hi here in the united states we do not have to beat our
kids to teach them to obey,we teach with love and patience, a
and we respect our kids so they learn with love to respect us.
beating is for getting your rugs clean, not for teaching anyone
anything. all that teaches is how to hate, and how to control
your wife and kids with a stick or your big fists. no we use
common sense and logic with raising our kids And we mostly do
A really good job. I was never beaten or spanked, and I grew
up to be good and intelligent. No beating is for rugs, not children
sorry but I dont agree with you at all.
