Chronicles of Narnia or Prince Caspian, which do you favor? |
|
I grew up reading the series and was a huge fan. I watched the first movie with my own granddaughter and it was just as gripping as the book I so fell in love with as a child. Last night I couldn't sleep and watched Prince Caspian for the first time and was just as magically inthralled as the first time. I have to say though that I really did like the second one more because of the more grown up theme and the action was moving though I missed seeing more of Anslann, the lion. Do you think they will make more of this series? I don't remember the books all that well know but the second movie left you with the feeling that Narnia never sees the High King Peter or Queen Susan again but the younger two return again.

2. lwelizabeth (159) | 7 months ago | I enjoyed both movies, but I did prefer the first of the two. As far as getting to see more of the Narnia books come to life, I haven't heard much about it continuing on. Last I heard, they weren't getting financing to continue after the third installment, but I could be wrong. I don't even know what's going on with the third movie right now.

dvmurphy (210) | 7 months ago | I didn't know they were making a third. Do you know what they are going to call it? It is pretty clear that Susan and Peter don't go back to Narnia in the Caspian movie when they return home at the end. They had grown up but it sounded like Edmond and Lucy would return. It has been so long since I read any of the books and they were my favorites when I was a kid. Now I watch the books come to life with my granddaughter.

lwelizabeth (159) | 7 months ago | I have no idea if it's being a made. I know that a rumor was going around about the time Caspian came that it was in production and that it was going to end there, but it may have ended at the second installment. Shame if you ask me; I thought they did really well at the box office though there's probably more to it than that.

3. dawnald (9713) | 7 months ago | I don't know why they had to put the little romantic moment between Caspian and Susan into the movie. But other than that, I liked both movies. I don't suppose they'll ever make "A Horse and His Boy" or "The Magician's Nephew" into movies...

lwelizabeth (159) | 7 months ago | I didn't get that either. It felt a little awkward since I didn't really feel as though there was too much build up for it throughout the movie.

dawnald (9713) | 7 months ago | It's on the Hollywood short list of things that must be added to movies "gratuitous romance that didn't exist in the book". I'm sure I could think of a few more things if I wanted to...

4. Unbreakable28 (120) | 7 months ago | I love all the books, and both the movies were fantastic, however the first really did capture the glory of Narnia, I'm really looking forward to Voyage of the Dawn Treader to see how far we go from there!

5. tyt2222006 (135) | 4 months ago | I am a college student now, but I am still reading Book 3, The Voyage of Dawn Treader. I agree that the second movie is a little better than the first, because the first seemed too childish.
