Anyone have fibromyalgia

It is a normal reaction, unfortunately. My mother has had this for many years, though I will say I am unsure of the true diagnosis, but not because I doubt her symptoms. More because they do not know for sure what causes it, I find that odd. But anyway, whatever it is I myself am starting to show symptoms of it, and that worries me. I know for myself, if I eat a handful of cashews every day that added magnesium helps the muscle pain. Also, make sure you get at least 7 hours of sleep, every night, and avoid stress as much as possible. All of these things can help you control the illness.

Fibromyalgia is usually a diagnosis when patients present symptoms of arthritis, but without definition. So you may have some symptoms of Rheumatoid Arthritis, Osteoarthritis or Lupus, but not enough for a firm diagnosis. The doctor covers his bases by diagnosing you with fibromyalgia, but he does you no favours. If he came down on one form of arthritis, people would feel sorry for you and try to help. As it is, they feel you have a 'nothing' disease, and you can snap out of it if you want to.

If you suffer from excessive tiredness, I would say you have either lupus or RA, or perhaps a combination of the two. I have all 3 types of arthritis, but it took several years to get a firm diagnosis. Ask to be referred to a rheumatologist, and tell the BF and your friends that you need support, not dismissal.

Hey i maybe would have say the same thing a few days ago but there are lots of things we dont hear and know about.so trust your doctor.

I have a friend who was diagnosed with this over ten years ago and he received the same reactions from many people, including his wife. His symptoms became so bad that he had to take a leave of absence from his job or he would have lost it because he was in so much pain and so tired that he couldn't function. I haven't talked to him in about 8 years now so I don't know if he truly had fibromyalgia or RA or lupus.

I was diagnosed with Fibromyalgia ten years ago and yes this is the normal reaction. There are some doctors who don't even believe that it is a real condition at all, but I know that it is. It is not just pain, there are so many other symptoms to this chronic syndrome that it would take to long to list them all.
