How could Daniel be so stupid as to fall for this forgery scheme

Now he has learned it wasn't even the real agent but someone pretending to be him. He must not have checked the guy out very well. After all the problems the rogue agent caused him and his crew before, he should have been much more suspicious and unwilling to go along with the guy.

The story sounded farfetched from the beginning to my ears, and now Daniel could be in real trouble with the authorities. The whole way the guy approached Daniel sounded off...he basically said, "You've got to do this for the sake of art!" I think the feds would have paid their artist up front, and not done it in a underhanded way by buying Daniel's other art up. They probably would have picked a more experienced artist, too.

I am confused with this whole storyline and I don't know why Daniel would agree to do something as illegal as this when he has been onto Amber about all of the things that she has done. I am just really confused as to why this is even being writtten in.
I think that Jena and Daniel are going to end up in a relationship together.I see Kevin and Amber growing closer all of the time. What do you think?

I've also noticed that Jana and Daniel as well as Kevin and Amber do seem to have excellent chemistry together, but that doesn't mean there has to be another round of partner swapping. I'm not sure Daniel and Amber is likely to work out, but I do hope Kevin and Jana can stick together...they've been through a lot and are pretty much the most committed couple in Genoa City. Not every couple has to be broken up!
Daniel wasn't really intending to do something illegal -- he thought he was helping a federal investigation along at the behest of the government. Like Stealthy said, Daniel's big mistake was not being more skeptical about the whole thing.
