are you against you child joining the military? i really am. i have three boys all the same age and call me selfish but i am going to try everyway i can to have them go to college and do some thing diffrent. if they want to wear a uniform they can be officers or something at home. i am really against sending them to a nother country in all that danger. i know i am going to get a lot of diffrent views from this.

Hello my friend deedeehall Ji, Pleas tell me on esingle concrete reasons for having such an idea, and if at all, why only as an Officer. I think, you may be having an idea that your son or sons do not join they are very safe. Well, I have only to say, all retired Generals also are in grave yard, and we remember tham by their patriotism Think it again and again.May God bless You and ahve a great time.

My son is just a few months old, and reading this discussion just gave me something to wonder about...what if? Well, I really don't know for now. However, as a mom, I think it's normal for me to hesitate at first. However, if this is going to be his chosen profession (and I'm praying not!), I might just submit to it, and support him as any mom should.

i know but if he does not come back alive trying to persuede him to do something diffrent just might save his life.and all the diffrent things and people they are around when they are in there is very scarey.these days you could even get killed by your own.

i do not want it either but i imagine all mothers feel this way and still someone has to do it. i think there is something in the law that prevents ALL sons joining. one has to be left out of the military. they may have changed that but i dont know.

What a nightmare thought.I have two sons one of thirty four and one of fifteen and it would break my heart to see them going off to war. There is one thing you have to come to terms with when they are sixteen they are considered adults. You don't get a say what they do.We just influence them, but when it comes to it ,it is not our decision to make.My son is sixteen in august and then only my influence he might take notice of if I am lucky. He is going to do Alevels at school which takes him up to nearly eighteen.God knows how those parents cope with them going off to war.You have to be proud of them and back them up if it is what they really want to do.

Teach your children everything you can. When they become an adult, love them enough to allow them their freedom of choice. Remember, if it's not your time to die, nothing can kill you!

hi deedeehall.... it is absolutely fine it is your view whether to send your child to the army or not......but if you ask me i will certainly send them.....at least one.....when i have them....i will certainly send one of them to the army.....or for that matter if he/she is the only child then also i will send them to the army......i myself wanted to join the army but could not join because of my physic....i had to drop my plans but i am really fascinated about army for that matter with defense......yes but i won't foce them to join...the last decision is their it is their life.... but i would really be happy if they join the army.....
