My local weather station is reporting 6 Tornado Warnings right this minute!!

None of these are near me yet but they are all south of me headed my way; These poor weather people at the local Tv STations are just going nuts again! The Rotation for possible tornadoes are in six different counties right now; six of them, I don't recall ever there being that many warnings at once; no matter what tv station I switch on, that's all that's on TV tonight in my area; nothing on the ground, just showing rotation on the radar, very nasty looking; http://www.kmiz.com/severeweather/index.php NOT A REFERRAL LINK.....just a link to some nasty weather here in Missouri!! in fact the weather people there are two of them on most of the STations, they keep interrupting each other with the newest reports to where they just kinda "glare" at each other...you know like HEY YOU ARE INTERRUPTING ME YET AGAIN... its funny but yet its not funny! I would not want their job for nothing during these times, Storm spoter's calling them , phone calls, text messages, and so on; I have a lot of relatives that live down South of me and they are always in the line of fire when these big bad storms blow up, and some of them have been through many of the tornadoes over the years...not fun! and now while I am typing they have the first one on the ground in Morgan County; Yeah poor Morgan county is always hit the hardest.... so what's the weather like in your area tonight? can't watch anything on TV guess I'll be online til the Lightning gets too bad nothing bad happening here in Audrain County yet, just still at the moment we've had a very humid day here with a breeze all day, slight breeze, I see Parents outside finding their kids..guess they all have on the TV too; Yippee Kay Aie...wonder if the rest of the dead tree will fall tonight? LOL!

Good luck on the tree. We have had light showers all day, and I have not looked at the weather, most of the signal is bad. We have just switched to digital converter box, but do not seem to have good enough reception. It is good that the parents are looking for the kids.

HI GardenGerty: Did you put your converter box on the channel that you use when using your DVD/VCR player? and then do a scan of the local stations? if not try that out; My Dad lives out in the country and I did that back when it was supposed to first switch over and he has that big out door antenna you know? But he is pulling in other stations too, they do run Cable out there now but he never wanted to use it but I guess he is pulling in a few other stations from the neighbors I don't know but he used to only get 4 stations now he gets like 12++ He likes it! Yeah only when the weather gets bad do the parents here go out to look for their kids pretty sad really; But its nice to see that they do care I guess?? You know?

I think there is a big ole antenna in the attic. We may hook it in. My son is the electronically talented person and we have done the scan, etc. I am getting more now that the weather is smoother. I had a lot of stations this morning.

Hey Gerty: Well that's good, glad to hear you are getting some stations in this morning!! Yeah Weather used to always play a factor in my big outdoor antenna I used to have and the one also at my Father's house/farm; Hopefully you get them to come in and stay in, I need to remind myself tomorrow to re-scan his channels in again, they say to do even though a lot of us have had ours hooked since the last time it was supposed to be up and running; so if you think of it, do another scan of your channels tomorrow to make sure that your converter box is picking up everything; good luck hope it works out for ya !

I live in Newfoundland, Canada and I find that we never get extreme weather like in other parts of North America. Our winters are moderate and we don't often get huge amounts of snow. Lightning and thunder storms are a joke and rarely cause any damage. Some areas get some heavy rain and small rivers may over flow its banks and a cause a bit of damage in a houses. Forest fires aren't common, in fact we send our water bombers to help other provinces. No one knows what a tornado is and there's only been a couple of tidal waves that have been bad in our history. We get the fringe of hurricanes and get a bit of water and some wind but it's not bad. I have been across Canada and down into the USA so I know the weather conditions of many areas. Right here where I live I feel pretty darn safe as much as I can any where.

I live in WA state but grew up in IL so I know all about the strange interesting storms that that area can have. I always say Prayers for everyone being effected in the Tornado areas this time of yr, and just remember that God is in control. And no matter what happens this too shall pass.

Morning Tina: Yeah it gets pretty "hairy" at times, Storms as a rule don't bother me but seeing and hearing about so many Tornado warnings last night it went from 1 to 2, then 3-6 when I posted, then it was 10 tornado Warnings, now that was a bit un-nerving...LOL!! Crazy Weather but for the most part it went East of me, just a lot of noise from the thunderstorm was enough, the lightning was wretched!!! I was telling Muscles how bad the lightning strikes were and how it really bothers me ( my eyes) very hard to try and sleep when you are just blinded by such wicked lightning strikes every second or more; That's Right God is in Control no doubt about that, I guess that's another reason I just don't get scared with them my main concern is always my pets, and family that is in the path of them; have a good day dear lady....once again its raining here in Wet_Missouri we got 2.5" last night..not counting what we got a few days ago gonna have to start quacking like a duck and just swim around...

Hi Gabs: Bless you, Yeah the biggest part of the system mostly went East of where I live, we had some big bad thunderstorms and lots of rain and hail, it scared my cat she doesn't like the sound that hail makes hitting everything on the roof here; The lightning is the worst anymore way way way too much lightning during these crazy storms anymore; I mean strike and after strike after strike each second, its just blinding!! I hope our ILL friends made it through the storms and anyone else in its path it really got active here in Missouri for quite awhile last night, typical spring/summer weather..(sigh)! take care dear friend;

I am so behind with my responses to friends tha this has probably passed by now. I do hope that no one was injured and that you are o.k. too. These warnings can be so scary. On the way to work this morning I was listening to a report that said that this year we will be having more hurricane activity than last year. I really gave a dep sigh and wuill have to start make preparations. Getting enough wwater stores, gas for generator, flashlights and batteries, disposable plates and cutlery and enough food to last a week. tinned or dehydrated food that it. Same ol same ol - every year. iT'S LIKE "HERE WE GO AGAIN FOLKS'. Let me know that you are safe

Hello Cynthiann: That's ok, I think you have it far worse than those of us in the tornado paths, I'd be a mess if I had to face what you do, those hurricanes really scare me, never been in one but the destruction they leave behind is just awful! Yes please do stock up and make sure you and your family have what you need, and if you have too...PLEASE get to safety when they come; I pray you won't be affected by them this year, I know that might be a pipe dream but I pray you'll be safe; take care!!! And do give us a heads up if one is headed your way ok?? then we can rally around and send you and your family some prayer's ok??
