How Old Were Your Kids When They Stopped Kissing You Good Night?

I want to hear from you. Can you remember when your Child said, "Can I not kiss you tonight Mommy/Daddy?" What did you do? How old were they? Did they grow out of it and ever give you a kiss again?
We have four: Number 1 was about 8 ... but is hit and miss again... weird..
Nubmer Two still gives kisses ... probably always will
Number 3 (6) just started this "Kiss me only on my nose" at nighttime
and number four is too young. Still kissing!!!

I have six kids aged 3 to 20. Three boys, three girls. The girls never stopped giving us kisses. The boys stopped kisses about aged 8 to 10 but they still give hugs.

I have one daughter who is 15 and she is very affectionate, always has been. She still comes in from school and loves to be hugged. It seems she finds it very comforting, especially if she's had a stressful day. At night, she sometimes goes to bed without saying goodnight but, other times, she'll come find me and I get a hug and a kiss. Sometimes I'll just wander in her room and kiss her goodnight and she never refuses it. My older daughter will be 19 this month. She had a period of time where she would just say goodnight and be off to bed. Lately, she is hugging me again... at bed time, before she goes out with friends, etc. No kissing though :) Just hugs... and, believe me, I'll take them for as long as they are willing to give them :)

oh I hear ya!! I love the hugs when they come! I'm so surprised at when the kids choose to hug me! it's never when I expect. Hugging is good. I kissed all my babies multiple times each time I kissed them. I told them that was to make up for all the days I wouldn't be able to when they were growing up. You think those baby kisses will last that long? :*)

Well I was probably in my teens before I stopped having my mother hug and kiss me and tuck me into bed at night. I dont really remember though. My daughter is 6 1/2 and my son is 3 1/2 and they still allow me to hug and kiss them and put them to bed. I dread the day they wont allow me to hug and kiss them anymore it means so much to me.

That's cool that you still get good night kisses. My kids KNOW I'm gonna do something when I see them!! I'm that kind of Mom. Their friends an dteachers know too.... they kinda wonder what it will be! I asked my oldest if it embarrassed him... he, SURPRISINGLY, said no.
Kids are funny. We'll see what the next few years turn into!

Hiya BB,
No I don´t get goodnight Kisses any more in fact I used to give them to them instead. They have always been very shy and retiring like that.
They do give me a Kiss when they are going to be off somewhere for a few Days and Weeks.
Also at New Year and Christmas and that´s it but I suppose that is better than nothing.xxx
