Who is the most famous person nicknamed Stinky? |
|
Are you good at trivia?
As a youngster that was the nickname my father used for me.
I just checked Wiki and they do NOT have THE famous person who had Stinky as a nickname by his friends.
So, this is a mystery, or contest. Whatever...
I think it is fun and will surprise you when you find out who the most famous person called Stinky is.

SteveSlaton (182) | 6 months ago | Wentworth Miller is not famous in my book. Is "Prison Break" a TV series? Is so, Miller is a fictional character. I'm writing about a real person.

I'm thinking of another.

5. cobrateacher (4201) | 6 months ago | Hi, Steve! I found several on Scour and on Bing, but most were very far back in history. Any other hints?

SteveSlaton (182) | 6 months ago | Teacher,
I am so honored. I'm not beyond "Google" when it comes to generic web searches. So I presume Scour and Bing are also search engines. I am always learning.
Don't be coy. What did you find!?
You might be on the right track. The Stinky I have in mind is a historical figure, though still cited today. The nickname was among his childhood friends that continued to be friends in his adulthood.
No harm in posting your guesses, but I would do so as a new response as a matter of my-lot form.

SteveSlaton (182) | 6 months ago | Okay. I see that I stumped y'all. Here is a huge clue:
An excellant historical fiction was published in 1980 by an author named Stone where I read about Stinky who was quite a practical joker as a youngster and loved to create noxious smelling chemical events, I presume sulfurous.

I came across this trivia in reading the book: The Origin: A Biographical Novel of Charles Darwin by Stone, Irving;Stone, Jean
While neither Wiki: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Irving_Stone
nor Fantasitc: http://www.fantasticfiction.co.uk/s/irving-stone/origin.htm
mentions "Stinky" it is in there...
