Joubnalists are called the conscience of the nation. And the newspapers are called the Fourth State. But we see a good number of journalists earn black money by blackmailing others. Then what should be the title of the journalists?

i think is true that journalism is the 4 state but i don't think they are the conscience of the nation!!the majority,if not totality,of them are really influenced by strong powers around the nation and ven by politician and parties!!So i don't think that journalists can be free when they write an article or just a reponse to a fact because many powers can be affected by them and their opinion too!!I think the situation will be much big when they write for national paper so it is supposed that their opinions and articles are reached by many people or majority in the state..do you think they can be really free to write?i guess not...

Once the journalists were really conscience of tghe nation. Now this image of them faded away. Journalism was a ideal profession. But now most of the journalists use this profession as money making weapon. It's also true that they have no freedom to write own way. They have to serve the purpose of the owner of the newspapers.

I don't know about blackmailing others, but I don't think journalists are the conscience of a nation anymore. Mostly I think that there aren't too many real journalists out there who practice good journalism. I think nowadays, especially on television, they practice entertainment or editorializing. It's more about making money and trying to be a news superstar than providing the news. Magazines and newspapers aren't as bad as tv though. On television, I believe journalists should be called superstar wannabe's.
