A good friend of mine just change his lifestyle, he wants to be a vegetarian. What a shocking news to hear from him. We ate a lot of meat before in the restaurants, especially steak at the Long Horn. Now, what got into him. He wants solely vegetable on his meals now. He has been working on it for two months. He said that he lost some weight, thanks for the eating habit of vegetable. Would it be that easy from a meat eater to a vegetarian?

Dear Friend Frankly speaking I am not in favor of such foods intake. Although vegetable is good for good health because of its high fiber contents and low calories, but you are exposing your self to ill health dangers. Meat or protein from fish or prawns are good for the body as protein will strengthen your muscles and give bulk to your body. Some say that egg is good for a vegetarian but the health of such person may be slackened still. That's my take on this issue. It's good that you continue this thread so that an in depth discussion can be done. OK? Thanks! Bro. Joe. GBU

Dear Clorissa I am against being a vegetarian for life. This is my personal opinion Unless you belong to a cult or religion that demands you eat vegetable for a better life now in the next world as Nike 'JUST DO IT!' Some of my friends are stanch eaters of vegetable only. But sad to say they are not so strong and robust like the rest of us. In fact to be healthy and a true vegetable eater needs brains and determination. You need to see that all the vitamins, minerals and other essential carbohydrate, proteins and fats must be eaten is of the right types and in proportions. Well, this is a free world. Eat what you can and like but be sure that you will still be happy and kicking around for the next 10 or 20 years. That's all I can say for now. Awaits your reply ASAP. Thanks a million. Love: Bro. I'm a vegetarian. The movement away from meat was kind of tough - I didn't miss the meat, but losing the protein was hard. Make sure that you friend gets enough protein, through soy, tofu, and other vegetarian products. Meat has a lot of fats in it, so the odds are, if he eats healthy vegetables, he probably will continue to lose weight.

Sure, it can be that easy if someone really wants to do it. I know a lot of people that are vegetarians and they love being vegetarians because they're doing what they feel is right. It might be difficult at first, especially if they really liked meat, but with a little will power I think it could be done and continued for as long as they want.

I don't think so, we are not made to eat only veggies like some think, I've read that a lot of women vegetarian are anemic they need to take extra Iron as supplement because they can't get it in the diet they have, mean it is not perfect. For men where would they go get there proteins that they need for the muscles mass they need to work all day, they'll faint on the job, I understand that everyone has there opinion on that,I know that I wouldn't ask for trouble.
