Well,it is protons, neutrons and electrons. An atom can be split to see all those mentioned. This is taught in our higher secondary classes in school. How did you forget? Are you weak in science?

myLot reputation of 63/100. ParaTed2k (6353)   ranked 1,245 out of 19,253 in questions & answers  3 years ago

I know what they are called, but Proton, Neutron and Electron aren't elements.. at least I can't find them on any Periodic Table.

I know there are also theoretic particles like "Quarks" and "Strings", but those are names of parts, not the elements they are made of.

You don't understand his question. Read it again, more closely.

hi parated2k, atoms are made up of electron, proton and neutron. even science is now able to find things which are smaller than these three constituents.

Atoms are mostly made up of vaccums which consists of the three parts electrons, protons and nutrons circulating in theit own orbit. But they acquire a very less part.

Read the above responses to the same answer.

Sol, I get the question Parated's asking. If atoms are the building blocks of everything, do atoms' PARTS have something like atoms making them up?

This whole thing reminds me of something a science teacher once said, apropos of the vacuum (which is mostly what comprises an atom): "Atoms are nothing moving around nothing so fast it becomes something."

Really tasks the mind, considering the possible connection between time & space that description makes (if only by default).

Ain't fizzix fun? lol

hmmm I am oddly curious.

Yeah, the above responses are what I normally get for this question, along with the condescending attitude. I ask it mostly in jest because well, it is a joke question. Of course sub atomic particles are made up of something that will someday be discovered and added to the Periodic Table (hence the "periodic" part of the name). I just think it's interesting that so many people of science would rather give a consdescending answer than simply say, "no bloody idea", or at least venture their opinion on the matter... instead of their opinion of me for asking. ;~D

It seems your question is what is the ultimate constituent of matter and at the most fundamental level energy and matter appear interchangable

If the atoms are not the creation of an all wise, all knowing God, where did these come from?

myLot reputation of 66/100. BCMike (3316)  3 years ago

And I am not even going to try and give these particles a name. I don't know and frankly don't care what they are called. The fact that they do the wonderous things trhat they do is enough for my silly little brain.

myLot reputation of 63/100. ParaTed2k (6353)   ranked 1,245 out of 19,253 in questions & answers  3 years ago

I think this graphic of mine says it all.

myLot reputation of 66/100. BCMike (3316)  3 years ago

I don't know if it says it all or not, but it does speak volumes though Ted.

Now why haven't I ever thought to ask that before?? It's as obvious as gravity! I have often wondered whether there might be some sub-atomic universe that, to some sub-atomic form of life, might seem "normal" sized....

Hmmm...Maybe that started when I read "The Incredible Shrinking Man".... whistle

ParaTed, thanks for asking what may be the first truly original question I've ever seen on MyBot! I love this sort of stuff. One of my cousins is an engineer, & we love to chat physics, though I have to steer clear of math, since I have a math block. But the raw concepts? I find those infinitely fascinating! So again, THANKS!
