Do you believe that Christmas is only 6 months away...EECH! However, I did something different for last year's christmas, that I thought I would tell you about it. I did make quite alot of people happy, and thought it was wonderful!
I sat down in November and made a list of people that I grew up with, kids and adults, some I haven't seen in years, and looked up all their home addresses. Then I bought a couple boxes of Christmas Cards, that you can purchase at a Dollar Store, and nice ones too, addressed the cards, and mailed them when it was time. However, in these cards I inserted the following poem, that I am sure many of you are familiar with...
"I have a list of folks I know, all written in a book, and every year when Christmas comes, I go and take a look.
And this is when I realize that these names are a part, not of the book they're written in, but from the corner of my heart.
For each name stands for someone who has crossed my path sometime, and in that meeting they've become the reason and the rhyme.
And while it sounds fantastic for me to make this claim, I really am composed of each remembered name.
While you may not be aware of any special link, just meeting you has changed my life, a lot more than you think.
For once I've met somebody, the years cannot erase, the memory of a pleasant word, or a friendly face.
So never think my Christmas Card is just a mere routine, of names upon a Christmas list, forgotten in between.
For when I send a Christmas Card that is addressed to you, it is because you're on the list of folks whom I'm indebted to.
For I am the total of may folks I've met, and you just happen to be one I prefer not to forget.
And whether I have known you, for many years or few, in some way you've had a part in shaping things I do.
So every year when Christmas comes, I realize anew, the best gift life can offer is meeting folks like you.
May the Spirit of Christmas that forever endures, leave it's richest blessings in the hearts of you and yours. "
This made a difference in alot of people's lives that I sent this to.

Unfortunately, we don't often realize how influenced we were by someone in our lives, past or present.

Actually, I didn't make up this poem...this poem has been circulating e-mails for quite a while...I have no idea who wrote it, there was never an author on it. But I thought it was so nice that I finally put it to good use.

I guess I don't always do it so we can stay in touch, but also just to let them know that they were a big part of my life, and the memory of them is something I cherish. It's another way of saying 'Thank you"
