I will start student teaching in Sept. I'm an early childhood education major. I can't wait, but I feel a little under prepared. Thankfully, the first student teaching is only 15 times, once a week for 15 weeks. Then, it's all semester in January. So far, I have five story books, two tubes of tempera paint, two books of large construction paper, a set of assorted lacing lacing cards, felt figures and a stories that go along with them for retellings, and four toy cards. Now, I'm keeping them all in a plastic bin for easy storage. I feel like I don't have enough things for good lesson and 15 different ones. I guess I will have to get creative.
Teachers, how many supplies do you have? That you bought with your own money. Do you use these things every year or get rid of them at the end? Also, any suggestions of things I'll need to buy myself for lessons? Thanks.

I would love you to teach my kids.I would suggest memory cards with picture on them, mine used to love doing that, playing cards are another great hit,a packet of different coloured stars that you can stick on their work,my kids used to love getting stars for acheivement, good luck with it.A good imagination making things from cardboard boxes ,large tube of pva glue.I used to do all these things with my own kids and they used to love it.I worked at a pre school not qualified though, they used to love playdough ,sand, water working with their hands and making a right royal mess.I would suggest a large plastic apron.
