How do you feel about our justice system and prison sentences? |
| |
| I feel like our justice system is a total joke!! There are so many repeat offenders in the jails and prisons because they don't have enough of a penalty to keep them from going out and doing the same things. The inmates now days have more rights the every day citizens. They get their meals catered to them, have a nice comfortable temperature, get to sleep when they want to, watch cable television and have no responsibilities. They don't have to pay for the water, power or even their room. What's the logic in that? If the jail and prison systems made them get out and work and earn a real living and keep themselves up, maybe they wouldn't keep going back. I think they should have work farms for all prisoners. They should have to pay for their meals and pay for being housed. They should also be given a sentence that represents the significance of the crime the committed. I saw one sentence that someone received 8 months on a murder charge. Then someone else received 6 years for breaking and entering. If they only get 8 months for killing someone, then what's to keep them from doing it over and over? | | | | | |

| | We need tougher prisons and longer sentences. If the prisons are over crowded, then build more of them. | | | | | | |

| | Our justice system in the Philippines, is such a kind of double standard. I mean double standard of justice because, when you are ally of the government you need not be worry about your case. If you are accusing those politicians sides by the government, you need to present more evidence to support your allegations. Even you submit strong evidence the court said, the arrest is technical in form therefor, the accused must be release immediately or the case is dismiss. If you are not ally of the government, even there is no evidence on the allegations filed against you. They create evidence upon to accused you on the crimes, that you cannot do. I feel that the justice system in our country is a justice for a few, that have money and power. | | | | | | |

| | Justice? Its questionable. There was a lady about 2 years ago in Raleigh Killed a white lady for calling her the "N" word. The worst part is she litterally followed this lady outside and murdered her in front of her child. She purposly did it. Yet the black lady got a slap on the wrist for it, all of about 60 hours community service for murder. Thats all no jail time no nothing other then community service. I have a man living on my road That killed a 77 year old man for $12 cash. But he got off due to the fact that he turned in 4 drug dealers???? How stupid. Where is the justice in that for the family of the victim? I can tell you right now that NC is not the only state with a very sad justice system. Maine is just as bad. My son never got Justice. He was molested by his own teacher and the School system paid the cops to cover it up. Of course now its all come out. Now that they have found out that over 200 children were molested by her. A father will go to jail for Murder for making the truth finally come out, but finally Justice was served. Not by the police but by a father. People spend 5 years in jail for stealing a pack of smokes from a store daily, yet they throw a drug dealer in jail, and there back out on the street in a matter of minutes doing it again. | | | | | | |

| | the government system in our country is also not doing its work properly or effectively. thousands of cases are kept pending and the number comes when the person dies. I hate this very much, a person should be given justice as quick as possible, we dont want justice in 20-25 years, when we are near to death and no happiness or heart to fight or win the case. | | | | | | |
