Fairies at the bottom of the garden...

When I was a kid (a bit after the dinosaurs), our washing line was attached to a sort of cement & tiny stones obelisk. There was a small hole just at my eye-level when I stood on tiptoes... if you pushed one of the tiny white stones in there, the fairies would turn it into silver. If you pushed the yellowy-orange ones in, they turned it into gold (obviously). Clearly, this tiny hole was far too small for the fairies to push out the big chunks of gold and silver they made even if they'd been strong enough. Consequently, no-one could prove me wrong. I wish I could get my hands on that obelisk... it must be solid silver and gold by now!!!
What did the fairies in your garden do??
