Long nails - how to avoid dirt inside?

I don't wear long nails so I guess the best way to avoid dirt is to cut it short. Or wash hands quite often. nothing could be worse if long nails are dirty.

I don't like long nails because i had a very bad experience with it. i had an accident and my long nail got separated from my thumb ouch! good thing nails grow like hairs do.^^ now i don't make my nails long and i always wash them clean.

I think washing your hands often would help a bit and if you have nail file keep it with you and use it to take the dirt out of your nails. Sorry, but I can't think of anything apart from these or keep your nails short! I don't have long nails and I honestly prefer short.

I don't know myself. I think scrubbing would work. My best technique is to flick the dirt out with each nail with a neighboring nail. But mine got so dirty I shortened them severely yesterday.

i maintain my long nails and always have a nail polish on it. so i dont notice dirt that much. my work let me use the keyboard all the time and when at home, i don't do things that makes my hands dirty that much so no worries.. but of course i do clean my nails from time to time. i dont like it that long..

I think we should cut our nails regularly because it is not good for our health that is is hygienic that we eat from that same very hand and even we wash our hands the dirt remains inside there and it will not benefit us in long term.

I am the same as you, but I have a friend who works in a factory and she does pretty good at keeping her nails clean. She lets them grow, although not really long. But for someone who does physical labor, I think she does really well.

I think she has a habit of just keeping them washed on every break, like the one person had said. And then, she showers at night instead of in the morning because her job has her so exhausted and filthy.

Maybe she also cleans on them a little on her drive home from work. I'm not sure how she does it.
