My Veggies Need A Snorkel  email this discussion to a friend?

Oh man, what am I going to do with all this rain we are getting. First the rain came down so hard and the wind was so strong it destroyed most of our flowers, like peonies and irises.

Now I am going to have to start putting umbrellas over my garden veggies or give them snorkels so they can breath under water.

It's been raining now for almost two weeks. I am sure that most of what I planted will never grow this year.

How is your garden doing now? Are you getting rained out of your yard?

Hi, I know how you feel, same here. Planted not flowers but veggie! It's been pouring everynight! This morning, most the plant came out of the soil and floating. Yes, guess mine need the snorkels too. My neighbours said it's good to do gardening now as we don't have to water them everyday. What so good if the plants are in the water rather than the soil!

It's my second attempt now, one last try and that's it for me! Will start again after the wet season ends.

Well we still have our plants firmly rooted in the ground and the weather lady said the sun might just come out this afternoon, that would rock. I need to get some things done in the yard, it's been more than a week now that I haven't done anything outside other than take pictures.

The flowers that should have lasted a few more weeks have all lost their blooms. Now they just look bare. But we have lots more flowers that will start blooming over the next month.

I hope you can recover and get all those floaters back in the ground before it's too late for them.

Good to know that Mr.Sun will be out of bed! Yes, I have carefully placed the plant in a pot. I'm at work now, once I get home this evening, I will redo all the gardening again! Hope Mr.Sun visits my garden soon!

I hope you get some sunshine. It rained almost every day here for a month, but it's breaking now and getting hot. Beets just wilt in the heat because they're not used to it. Everything survived the rain pretty well, but things like tomatoes and peppers are very slow getting started.

We are getting some sun today and it hasn't rained yet. It almost noon. I even got to go for my first walk in almost 2 weeks. I don't like walking in the rain.

I was looking around the yard this morning and the only things that took a beating with all the rain and wind are our flowers. The poor things either have no petals left or they are hangings so low they break off. But we have lots more flowers to come up yet, it's still early.

My beets look like they are happy with all the rain. Maybe I better get them an umbrella for some shade.

Shading the beets might be a good idea, seriously. I know mine had a really hard time with the hot sun when it finally came out!
