[em]thumbup[/em] Off to GLASTONBURY festival tomorrow [em]thumbup[/em]

Have just transferred over 70 photos to my computer - though have deleted a few that were not worth keeping. Have to do other things to get back to the everyday world. Have been playing some You-Tube videos of bands I listened too - Really enjoyed Dizzy Rascal's song "Bonkers", which according to at least one newspaper was the anthem for Glasto... Rest assured I will gradually put various discussions up... Thanks, mimpi

It doesn't seem so. While I was at the festival didn't see Keane mentioned. Done some research on this and it appears that earlier in the year there were a fair few rumours that Keane would appear, but didn't come to fruition.

And yes to go to Glastonbury for the first time and have so many brilliant bands such as Maximo Park who opened on Thursday at 4pm in "The Queen's Head" marquee venue. The Specials, Bloc Party, F*cked Up - Canadian punk band who appeared on the John Peel stage, Spinal Tap and Dizzee Rascal who appeared in succession on the Pyramid Stage on Saturday afternoon, Status Quo, Madness, Blur (who played the very emotional closing act on the Pyramid Stage on Sunday, and to have pretty good weather! This is very fortunate!!

Yes, there was a very good choice of music. We did have some drizzle and showers of rain, which made it quite muddy underfoot in places, with the occasional puddle of liquidised mud to avoid! On Sunday night even had a bit of thunder and lightning, which added to the atmosphere! Of course, though this is my first time attending the festival, have watched it many times over the years on TV. It was great earlier on today, after arriving back home, to see some of the You Tube videos that people had posted of some of the acts. Thank you, suzzy!

Yes, there is quite a complex system of volunteering for litter picking, stewarding, security, sound engineers and so on for Glastonbury. But the festival did actually open for the paying punter (so to speak) at 8am on Wednesday. There is no live music until 4pm Thursday, so there is chance to pick a good camping spot. Also, when a festival "virgin", it gives chance to settle in to the vibe of the festie, before everyone arrives. The difference in numbers of people from Wednesday to Friday as numbers built up is amazing. At times, when people are walking to the different venues for the next music act, pedestrian gridlock almost occurs at times. Mostly the organisers judge the timings and popularity of each act to stop this occurring.
