Does long distance relationships last?

i think it works for very well but only to a chosen few..if you are able to manage such then its possible that your marriage will also last for long..and its better that if you enter into a long distance relationship you should be ready for the repercusion

Hmm this is a tough subject for me. I feel it is possible for a long distant relationship to work, however then again I don't. I know, I know ...I don't make sense but hear me out first. K, well My mother and father have been married for a little over 25 years and for half of my life my father was hardly around. He was a flight engineer for a top airline company and we would be lucky if we got to see him at least one week out of a month. Only recently he has retired and now he is able to enjoy what we call "home", but I do remember those days and it was definitely a long distant relationship and till today they are still going strong.

However, in my situation it was a lot different. When I was pregnant with my first child my husband actually boyfriend at the time left home to go to school in Cali. Although he only had two more years to complete, within six months of school he came back home and he came back home for good. The long distant relationship was not working out. We both longed to be together and he made sure he was going to be apart of our babies life. So in my situation the long distant relationship thing was not for us...

i am in a long distance reli have been for nearly two years now and we met on the net, we started talking when i was 14 and he was 15 we met 11months later, we see each other every week now and talk on msn all the time its ok though because we appreciate every minute together and were not in eachothers faces 24-7, its true distance does make the heart grow fonder

It works, What I beleieve love has no respect for Distance or time. It is not being in the same place that dertermine whether a relationship last long, what dertermine how long a relationship will last is Good communication and understanding.

Communication on this level of is vital. exploring all forms of means of communication is needed to enhance the relationship

long distance relationship requires extra effort, more of patience, understanding a a lot of respect and honesty. it will work if you keep good communication with each other. there are lots of ways already and the couple should just maximize the use of the technology to help the long distance relationship work. it will only last if you have put extra effort on it.

Hello, Azaerus. I think it is all depends on the couple? On how they trust and value their love. I was in a long-distance relationship and I can say that it worked on me. I am now married to the guy who was thousand miles apart from me. And good communication is also a plus, that is important if you are in a long-distance love.

they can work just not in my experience. i've seen them work and seen them fail. it really depends on the couple and if they are really in it to make it last. the problem for me is i get bored. i need to see the person i am with and i need physical contact or else i start to feel like i'm not with them.

I am in a long distance relationship and I can tell you upfront that is sometimes nice and another time heart rending. It is also expensive. The two factor inside of a long distance relationship is honesty and communication. One person cannot be reaching out while the other one is not because the one who is will become frustrated. Both persons has to know what the goal and mission is for the relationship. As for me I wouldn't venture back in one because it isn't worth it. A person can tell you anything over the phone or the internet.

Mine is a long distance relationship. I have two failed relationship but i have 4 failed relationship here, not a long distance one. There are people who have sucessfully passed that stage and they are happy now together. My bestfriend and their friends are all successfully married.
It really depends on both parties.
