RIP Farrah Fawcett and Shame On You CNN! |
|
It seems ever since the news of Michael Jacksons death broke Farrah Fawcett has been pushed to the back burner. For some reason CNN cannot share the spotlight between these two celebrities. CNN was supposed to run a special tonight called "Farrah Fawcett, Remembering An Angel" It has been cancelled and replaced with Remembering Michael Jackson. Larry King made the comment that with the recent death of Michael Jackson Farrah's death is now "a thing of the past" What a slap in Farrah's family's face. RIP Farrah and Shame On You CNN And Larry King!

I know yesterday when I signed into MSN for something I saw one of the pictures that they have on the slide show was about Farrah Fawcett, but when Michael Jackson died, they gave him the whole top of the web site. Now, I know that Farrah Fawcett was very ill and this was almost expected, and Michael Jackson died very suddenly, but there was no reason to push her to the curb. I haven't even seen any mention of her today, where I think it would have normally appeared. It is kinda strange though that she really cherished her privacy, while he didn't. It's the same in death as it was in life...

In a way, I am glad someone else came along and stole her thunder because her family can make their preparations without too much media hassle. She deserves to go out quitely and with dignity that the media is sure not to provide. She was a wonderfully brave woman.

25. tattylashes (4295) | 7 months ago | this is what i said today, jacko died and so did farrah, so why has she been shoved to the back? she was as famous as any other star in the world and he gets all the limelight, i feel sad for farrahs family because it makes her death look like nothing, even tonight one of my favorite shows has been removed so they can show his life story.... we ALL know about michael, i do feel sad that he'd died but it's been a long time coming, i do not see any respect for farrah and her family which is disgusting, but all of a sudden mj is splattered all over the media and farrah doesn't even get so much as a mention....

| 27. Tgreen747 (4) | 7 months ago | Well fist they were supposed to be discussing the violence in Iran! this was a key issue because the violence had erupted that morning. Farrah was much less known than Micheal id have to say. Many people i told about her death or i talked about with didnt know who she was. Many older people can recognize farrah but honestly she wasnt near as big as a star as micheal Jackson. Remember Micheals death was "unexpected" and he had made over 10x much money in his careerm His career was 4x longer than farrah, He set records with his work. He was just a much more known peson.

29. samijo719 (813) | 7 months ago | I couldn't agree more. As I was flipping through the channels last night it was all "Michael Jackson this or that" not to say I'm being disrepectful and saying his death isn't important but why is it ALL they are talking about and not even rarely acknowledging Farrah's passing.
I was deeply saddened when I woke and read she had passed. I had just a few weeks prior watched her special following her fight with cancer and she was such an amazingly strong woman who fight hard against giving into the disease. I think she deserves to be recognized for her strength and courage.
It really makes me sad that all anyone is doing is going on and on, repeating the SAME EXACT things about Michael Jacksons death and Farrah Fawcett as you said is on the back burner!

30. amybrezik (1112) | 7 months ago | I agree. However, it's not just CNN. Michael Jackson's death has overshadowed Farrah Fawcetts everywhere. And, does anyone even remember that Ed McMahon died on Monday. They all deserve to be recognized, none more so then the other. They contributed in different ways over the decades, and all 3 should be remembered, not just Michael Jackson.
