| | Probably not America, but I believe he will have a holiday somewhere, and 200 years from now, there will still be parades. | | | | | | |

| | I don't think so. I mean he was a great talent and all but I don't think they will do this. I mean when Princess Di died did they make a holiday for her? I don't know if they did but I don't think they did. Nor for that matter people like John Lennon or Ronald Reagan, etc. I think we can just remember the good times, his musical legacy, and all of the talent that he had. I hope he rests in peace. | | | | | | |

| | I don't believe that will happen. Along with the other famous folks already mentioned who don't have a national holiday, Elvis Presley doesn't have one and he was the King of Rock N Roll. | | | | | | |

| | I have never been a fan of Michel Jackson,I will remember him for his awesome talent and the good he did around the world for other people. His memory will forever be tarnished because of the numbers of accusations of child molestation over the years, even tho the 2003 case he was said to not guilty,in another child molestation case he paid 20 million to keep that case out of court. I belive Michale Jackson was tormented with demons most his adult life and they effect his mind and all that played out in his bazaar behaviors. I know for now he is at rest and peaceful, my prayers go out to his loved ones and fans around the world. | | | | | | |

| | No, I don't think that there will ever be a holiday for Michael Jackson, surely for years and years to come, this day will be a remembrance of him and all of his accomplishments, he was so talented and was the "king of pop"....he had a lot of turmoil and scandal in his life, but I think that the fact that he died at 50 and just when he was about to start touring again, and would have gotten "back on track" makes his death much sadder, but no a Michael Jackson national holiday is waaaaaaaaaay out there and i don't think it will ever happen. | | | | | | |

| | he was never found guilty, im not defending him in that subject but I think that it is mean that you have to speak ill of him on the day of his death, you could have given it at least one day to say negative things about him, that would be the respectful thing to do to wait at least a day after he died, a day after I'm sure his family and children cried because they have lost him forever, you could have waited ONE day before making you "oh so witty (NOT!)" comment | | | |

| | I agree. We have no conviction. I was not personally assaulted by Michael, and no one I personally know or respect was. Therefore, I will NOT EVER put this label on Mr. Michael Jackson. His record reads, "INNOCENT". I wouldn't want to be known by MY accusations. Would you? There is an amount of respect for death that should be there no matter who we are talking about. Everyone is loved by someone. | | | |

| | Nope. He was inducted into the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame TWICE!! I think there will be schools of music named after him. Performers are influenced by him, whether they understand it or not. From lyrics, moves to cinematography... artists are influenced by the amazing progress he is responsible for. No one will ever changed the arts like he did. | | | | | | |

| | By "nope" I meant that "Nope, I don't think it's too far fetched." Didn't want that to be misconstrued. | | | |

| | I don't think a singer or indeed any performer, however good or enduring, should have a day dedicated to them. As with anyone who dies, the anniversary of the death is their memorial. Even great statesmen such as Winston Churchill never received the honour of a national holiday. These days should be reserved for important days in a country's history or culture, and not bestowed lightly on singers, who after all were well rewarded for their work during their lifetime. | | | | | | |
