Do you have moods that make you listen to old music... |
|
... and reread old books? I do. In this right moment I´m writing while I listen to those songs I learned by heart when I was 15. I relaxes me more than a pill and I feel young again and full of memories. How about you? Do you have your oldies parties?

1. magic9 (584) | 7 months ago | yeah, there are many books that I read again and again. about three books I borrow from local library, to be frank, I keep them over more than one and a half year. I just renew it and renew it all the time since it's not recalled by others. I need them even I don't read them all the time, but I don't want to part with them.

2. goodnightmoon (1975) | 7 months ago | I definitely enjoy those "trips down memory lane" from time to time. Music more than books mostly... but I, not too long ago, re-read a book that I absolutely LOVED (!!) in sixth grade. "The Giver" by Lois Lowry. It's a simple book, obviously for sixth graders, but I wanted to know if it was actually as good as I thought it was... and have thought about it for years. So finally I got it and re-read it. I LOVED it! Sure the story is simple, but the plot of it fascinates me! The terms used to describe people, feelings, just everything is so original. Very creative writing.
Right now I'm listening to an oldie -- Frank Sinatra's "Witchcraft." Fun song! Though before my time.

3. OceanTiara (2962) | 7 months ago | Hello Marguicha! Oh yes, indeed we do! My bf and I nearly do every weekend, at least one of the day. We are always on the computer a lot, but we usually one of us will go to YouTube, and he will play an old song and then I will. We take turns and for instance, I will get up and dance the funny dance to say "Viva Las Vegas" with hips in motion, you know Marquicha? I know you know what I speak of, for we have to revisit the oldies and have great fun doing it. It is the essence of vida la vida? Is that you say life? Hhahahah Excuse my foreign language capabilities. Reading, no, I love books, but the days are gone that I can stay reading for a long time.. Have a wonderful day, as you are such a beautiful woman and spirit dear friend! Huggles and Love to you xo

4. catdla1 (2768) | 7 months ago | I must be moody...lol. I almost always listen to the music that was popular when I was a teenager. Thankfully, there is enough interest so that there are several radio stations that play music that was popular 'back when'. I also have several CD's collections of music that was popular in the 50's and 60's and enjoy listening to them too. I think the older I get, the more backward I go...lol.

catdla1 (2768) | 7 months ago | Have you ever checked out a website called pandora.com? It's a music genome station, where if you enter a song or artist that you like, it plays that plus similar songs. I frequestly have that on in the background and have had the pleasure of hearing so many songs that I used to love, but had forgotten about. It's a great site, and free too.

marguicha (3637) | 7 months ago | I used to know how to sing everyone of those songs. Elvis, I know by heart. And before that also. I guess part of my knowledge of English comes from trying to memorise those songs. They do bring memories. My pop took me to see Jailhouse rock when I was 13. It was a turning point for me. And the envy I had to those people who could dance "Rock around the clock" so well! And The Platters. And so many others. All in my heart, friend!

8. neelianoscet (2156) | 7 months ago | When I feel happy or sad I listen to music. If I am sad, I listen and play sentimental, classical or great older favorite music with meaningful lyrics that make me ponder or thoughts deeply. It gives calming moods and relax me. When I am happy. I feel excited, cheerful and like to dance and sing. I like to listen to pop, rock and roll, the mixture of rock and ballads. Then, I am fascinated with fast beats and dance according to its rhythm.
