Quality costs! |
|
I can appreciate the fact that people want to save their money, but why is it that people are so unwilling to pay for anything that is good quality. They want great quality stuff at cheap prices. It doesn't happen, unless you get REALLY lucky! We have a shop near us that has a whole array of items, ALL of which are 90p, now, what kind of quality can you expect for that? I have heard people (my brother included) saying that the stuff in there is low quality, What do you expect for less than £1? I bought a money box in their and I tapped it on the side as something was stuck in there and it broke, now I know I shouldn't have done that, but I am not gonna complain as I knew it wouldnt be able to withstand much! Are you one of those people who is willing to pay for a quality item? Or have you been fooled by the false economy?

1. divkris (763) | 5 months ago | well i have a problem - i like changing my accessories often and i cannot handle things delicately - yeah i know it sounds weird but it is true.
So the best thing i do is to go for cheaper products that are cost wise economical and do offer quality for what i pay. So i don't invest 5000 rupees for branded handbags; instead i get handbags for 250 and may withstand only for a couple of months - its OK for i can get something trendy when the existing one becomes obsolete!:)

2. inkstainedheart (476) | 5 months ago | I have actually been able to get some pretty good quality items for cheap, especially when it comes to furniture. I am the type of person who is willing to buy something that needs work for a lower price because I like to customize things to fit my personality.
For instance, I love to buy vintage clothing from consignment shops and yard sales and alter them to make them more modern and to fit me properly. I recently bought a horrible little 70s dress for a few dollars. I replaced the buttons, fixed the buttonholes, and reshaped the sleeves.
With the right belt and shoes, it will be great to wear this fall, and I hardly spent any money on it at all!

The person said the cord was missing. But hey! It also runs on 6 C batteries.. and the batteries last a long time. The keyboard works perfectly.

3. OreoCookie3 (18118) | 5 months ago | To me, it is totally silly to expect quality for nothing. Take shoes. I have a pair of shoes I paid $90 for. I bought them 5 years ago and they still wear like new. A coat of polish and they are good as new again. You can't go to a cheap store and buy shoes for $10 or less and expect them to last and hold up. I am willing to pay good prices for things that I want to be quality.

4. catdla1 (2556) | 5 months ago | When I buy something cheap, I really don't expect a lot, although there have been times that I've been pleasantly surprised. Some of those type of stores buy closeouts, meaning that the store bought a bargain and passes it on to you.
What really galls me is seeing things at high-end stores for a substancial amount of money, that I wouldn't even buy at that bargain store. Any one who sews knows what I'm talking about. I've seen some very expensive clothing with unfinished (or sloppy) seams, and buttons that are attached with a thread that readily pulls out. Some clothing is labelled as 'dry clean only' simply because with normal motions of a washing machine, the seams would fall apart.

5. hairypits (212) | 5 months ago | I don't think like that at all. I want the best for the lowest cost possible so I frequently buy things off ebay.
I get brand new items for a fraction of the price on ebay such as recently I got 3 pairs of crocs (for me and the kids) for £35 including delivery. I also got a timberland rainproof mac for £5 for my son, and monsoon winter jackets for my kids at £7.99 each that were in monsoon at the time for £45 each.
I also shop in our local pound shop where they sell top brand products like shampoo's and other hair products, cleaning products, animal accessories and foodstuffs. They are top brand items which are normally £4 - £7 in supermarkets so I save a fortune xxx

| 10. Apple1 (95) | 5 months ago | I am willing to pay more for clothing that is just plain SEWN correctly! I am tired of flimsy material and threads hanging and pulled away from seams. It makes no sense to purchase a piece of clothing that you have to go home and restitch. Hmmmm. Now that I think of it, I should just go ahead and make them myself.
Anyway, yes, for durable items these days, you have got to be willing to pay. Good quality never does come cheap.
