I'm Leaving Genoa City...Y&R now stands for...

They are starting to take the storylines a little too far on the show and I will be glad to sign a petition to tell them that we need the Old Y&R back. The whole thing with Sharon lying, I believe, is leading up to Jack finding out that Summer is really his baby and then Mary Jo will deal with that. I believe that Nick is going to be very mad that Sharon lied about paternity of the baby!

I haven't seen Y&R in 25 years. They startedastoryline I hated and I left and I haven't been back.What is funny is that I don't remember the storyline.

Have to agree the storylines are almost as bad as under LML. One problem is that they are making all the characters look like they are totally stupid. The Victor of old would have caught Adam a long time ago. The federal agent is just totally incompetent, setting up a sting and sending a civilian into a meet with no one watching what is going on. Etc. Etc. Etc.

I was actually thinking of taking a break, too. I think the relationship and crime stories have been way overemphasized and feel like the whole business aspect of the show has been entirely forgotten. Days go by without Jabot, Chancellor, and Newman even being mentioned! New people watching the show would have no idea that Katherine, Jack, and Victor have been business rivals for decades. The Colleen-on-the-Newman-Board storyline, though better than most in my view, was evidently dropped for no apparent reason. Ultimately, though, I decided to stick with the show because I'm still interested in some of the stories and, more importantly, I still feel loyal to several of the actors/actresses on the show. The Jeanne Cooper era isn't going to last forever, and what happened to MTS could happen to any of the other actors, too. It's really a shame what's happened to the show over the past few weeks because some of the stuff they've done this year has actually been very well done in my view. If you're serious about leaving Genoa City in a while, I'll miss you. Perhaps you could write up some posts about old shows from time to time to give us younger viewers the historical perspective -- I love reading that kind of stuff.

I think the writers have been smoking some of the funny stuff. I really HATE what they're doing right now. Somebody needs to go to Hollywood and give them a kick in the pants!!!

I agree the storylines are getting bad. I watched today and of course sharon told nick that the baby was jack which is not helping the matter. Phylis is in pain but giving her false hope that her and nick should be together will not help. everytime nick and sharon have an important get together something happens to phylis and nick's daughter summer enough is enough.
