Blog Question

I think it depends on who is hosting your blog. I have changed the name of my blog before and it is on Google. Just go to edit blog preferences and you should be able to do so.

I know I have seen something on updating your blog, that must mean changing it but I don't know anything about blogging.

I use BLogger and altho far from an expert... I just kind of did the same thing. YOu can't change the URL to your blog but you can change the name of it as it shows on the blog page. Go to the options I believe it is "publishing" and there is a space there for the NAME of the blog...the URL also, but you can't change that. Just change the name that appears on the blog page. Also.. if you want to, and I am working on this... I have found that you only have to have one account name.. and all your blogs DO NOT have to have that account name in the URL. So I started a new one for Coupons, Samples and Free Stuff.. but it in with my Coffee Break Whatever account.. the URL is coupons-samples-and-free-stuff.blogspot.com and the name is the same.. but it is in my Coffee Break Whatever Account name with Blogger. Takes me awhile but I usually end up figuring things out... I finally figured this out.. took me long enough!

But instead of changing the blog name... why not start a new blog? Leave the one you have...some might find it in the searches but put a link to the new blog.. that way you have "advertising" on two levels.. for each blog but they are both intertwined and no one else can get that URL of the older blog..so you kind of keep the "rights" to that when a search is made.

IF you just dont' want to do that old one anymore.. still.. don't delete it.. just put a post saying "click here to go to the New (whatever the new blogs name is) and then don't post anymore on the old one. ANyone leaves a comment on the old one.. you are notified and you can respond and mention the new blog. So you still have use of it.. you just don't have to use it!

My blogs all started with Coffee Break Whatever.. and now I am changing them to a more appropriate name for the blog...using SEO and all. I'd be willing to bet the words "coffee break whatever" were not searched very often, so why have them in the title that search engines often use to search? Use words that are commonly searched for in your titles. But they still remain in my CBW "network" for easy of updating them.

if it's a hosted blog (like blogger for example)you'd probably be better off
starting a second one.a lot of them you can't change the name too easily after it's been established.
if it were on your own site it would be easier.

I tried to change the name of my blog the other day and cannot find out how to ddo it either. I think you have to start a new one to change the name. You can change everything else besides that.

If it's on Blogger you can change the 'title' but not the address - you would need to create a new one. If the original is established you would be better off keeping the address you have and just change the content and title.
