My dog gave birth but......too many for me to handle.  |

 I am so thrilled to welcome my first 'grand puppies' as my terrier dog finally awarded me with so many puppies. I was up the whole night on standby to monitor her delivery. I was nervous watching the process of her giving birth as it reminded me of the labour pain I went through during my delivery many years ago. I think animals are no difference as I see her twitching as her puppies come out one by one. It only took her less than an hour to deliver all her puppies. I acted as a 'nurse' and recorded everything. Luckily there wasn't any complications as the vet had told me that should there be any complications she need to go for c-section. She had 6 altogether but one was still birth. Now I am left with 5 puppies. The b&tch is small and it surprises me when she produced half a dozen of cute puppies but they are so tiny, the size of a handphone.
I am thinking of how to take care of them as these 5 puppies are far too many to care for. Do you think that I should keep them all or give them away to good homes? I am at a cross-road right now as they are all so cute. Taking care of all of them is draining my purse and giving them away is breaking my heart. What do you think?

| zandi458 (5623) | 5 months ago | It is an unfortunate and sad case when all the puppies died. Luckily my puppies survived and came out healthily except for one who was born still birth. Giving them away breaks my heart but it is quite troublesome to care for the whole bunch of puppies. | |

Unless you can afford physically and financially, definatively with some help, you are to give up some some day. That is for the interest of both yourself and your pets. A short time painful departure will lead to long time peace and health. Believe you will manage it. God blesses.

Believe me, she sometimes sleep with my kids. But I don't know how the puppies turn out to be. I'll wait until they are big enough and decide whether to keep or give away. | |

If you can't take good care of them all you should give them away to your relatives or your sister or friends or people who can take good care of them properly. You can visit them once a week and can borrow them to take a walk when they little bit bigger.

You must pay for the vet,shots, & food but you also must care for them. It's a pretty busy job especially with 5 puppies. If you feel your up to the challange keep them all;) | |

But I've also seen the face of a child when they are picking out the puppy, and really that just makes it worth it. It just gets so expensive to take care of multiple dogs with the vet bills, feedings, etc. I guess in the end though you have to decide how much you can handle and afford and still be able to properly care for them because it is a big financial responsibility. I'm sure you'll make the right choice.

I am sure when proper time, you would be able to give away few puppies....
