My dog gave birth but......too many for me to handle.

Truly, you are blessed with a dog that gives you five more. I agree with you that too many dogs is difficult to handle, especially when they grow up. It is just like having five kids to feed. And I suggest that you can retain two and sell the others or give it to a near neighbor or relative. This way, you can handle them and provide for them adequately. But be sure that they can eat first before giving them away so that they can survive being in a new home and environment!

I think you should give them away. Because they make you happy, but at the same time, stress you out by taking away A LOT of your hard-earned cash. If you give them away, they will make quite a few people happy, and you will continue being able to afford food. Lol. I understand how hard it is to part with adorable puppies though. Good luck:)

First, congratulations, uh, "grandma"...LOL. Well you won't have to make any decisions for at least two months as the puppies need to be with their "mom" until they are weaned. One thing you could do though is start asking around now if anyone is interested in adopting the puppies...also I'd recommend getting the mother fixed in a few months time so you're not surprised with more "babies'

First congrats on being a new "grandma" but I think you should give them away. Trust me, it is hard work. My dog had four litters before I had the money to get her spayed and I had to take care of those puppies until I found them good homes. If they are in the house, they will wake you up all hours of the night. Sometimes, when my dog didn't want to feed her babies, they would come in the bedroom and wake me up so I could make her feed them. Then I had to sit there, half asleep, until she was done and they were all back to sleep. I had a lot of sleepless nights.

Do what I did. Take pictures of all of them before you give them away so you will always remember them. It will be hard to get rid of them but you will be happier for it in the long run. I have 7 dogs to take care of now because I got attached to one one puppy out of three litters and kept them. They are mostly outside dogs but it is still hard and expensive. Moochie has been alone for quite some time now and it's high time for him to have a partner. lol! I know it will cost you a lot to send them over so i guess it's a bad idea. hehe.. Hi zandi458, it would be good if you just get the number of dog that you can handle. Dogs is not so different with real human babies actually. They need care, attention and love. Care - for example, i know it will require money to give the best for them. The vet check up, the food, the accessories and stuff, the vitamins and all, you really need money for all of this. The attention - your pet would love attention of course. You can actually give more attention to pets if you can still control them. Love - yes they do need love. And they can get that love when you care for them and pay attention to them. Love - care plus attention to pets.

Congratulations! I think it's still a great news to hear that your dog gave birth. Although they are a lot, but at least they are safe and sound:) I think there are a lot of puppies to handle for a family. I think it will be better to give the puppies to the relatives or friends who are trustworthy. So that the puppies can be taken good care of and grow up well. If you think about it, then you know it will be a good future for the puppies. A lot of dogs at home can be troublesome and tiring. You can still see them now and then. You can also ask your relatives and friends tell you how the puppies or even give you the photos. You will not leave them.

Congratulations grandma...lol. Puppies are so lovely. They shouldn't be costing you anything at this point as the mother will be feeding them. Of course when they are old enough to be weaned, giving them away or selling them is necessary but some people might be strangers...it's not always possible to give them away to family or friends. If you have them given their shots and vet checked, you should sell them and thereby recoup the expenditure from the sale. Hope you find good homes for them when the time comes.
