Anyone remember John Wayne? I just heard his "America, why I love her"

Mr. Wayne had a wonderful voice and it's great that he chose to use it for something like this. Happy 4th of July!

I just read his biography on Wikopedia and I didn't like some of his attitudes, but then I thought back to how the country was in the 50's when he made those remarks they cited and he was a reflection of his society. So I guess I can't hold that against him, he was just ignorant. However, he did believe in self-sufficiency and helping oneself instead of depending on a nanny state. He'd be very surprised at how things are now. I still admire him. Naturalized citizens may not understand our holidays but they know more about the Constitution and the way our laws work than most of our high school graduates, I really respect them for doing all that work. I hope you have a wonderful holiday! I thank God we have this holiday, and I know I'm blessed to have been born here in this country.
