Best home remidy for Skeeter bites?  |

|  Well it may be summer but those lil blood suckers are out in swarms and of course my lil ones are big victems of theirs.
I want to say I recall someone saying that deoderant helped with the bites. But I don't recall if that was accurate or if they used baby rash ointment? Anyone remember?

| |  Hi. Some remedies that my family has been using are:
1. Apple cider - we rub apple cider on the bites - it relieves the itch.
2. Toothpaste - we put a little toothpaste on the bites - relieves the itch.
3. Aloe - we use the aloe from the aloe plant - it relieves the itch and heals too.
We use whatever we have available. I have heard the one about deoderant. It is said it provides instant relief. Don't know if it actually works. I will have to try that one day. :)

| |  Mom used to put calomine lotion on our bites. It didn't help much, nothing seems to.
I've read that wearing a dryer sheet keeps the mosquitoes away better than anything. We don't have many skeeters here and I've only gotten two bites this year but I sure do hate 'em! This sounds gross, I know, but when a bit starts itching I wet my finger by sticking it in my mouth then rub it on the bite. It relieves the itching for about 15-30 minutes. I don't know why it works, but it does.

just a little water and some soda mixed up enough to stick.
