I was just reading a news article about the lottery for tickets for attending Michael Jackson's memorial service - and at the bottom it mentioned that the service will be broadcasted on five stations. I do live near enough to Staples center but..... I think I'll record it and watch it. Are you planning to watch? Did anybody who posts here try to get tickets?

Although I admired Michael Jackson, and have a couple of his cds I guess I would not say that I admired him enough to want to go to his memorial service although in a way it would be a piece of history in the making. I would certainly watch it on tv though.

I think it's going to be one of those "Where were you when.." Moments in history... whether you liked the guy or not. Ya know? Many are not fans, but will be effected by it... traffic, news coverage...

Nah, I've seen enough MJ stuff to last me for a while. We were in the LA area when he passed away and we had planned to visit Hollywood but after all that happened we decided against it. I'm sure the memorial service will be a star studded event and most of the media will be covering it. I'll bet they sell the memorial service on DVD so Joe Jackson can make more money off his kids.

You're right, I think he did just use the kids to make money. If it's true that he was abusive and beat them, then it makes sense that they all have problems and why MJ purposely left Joe out of his will or estate.
I'm not sure what is going to happen with MJ's kids, from what I gather, they are not biologically related to either MJ or Debbie Rowe, and she only had the kids FOR him, and he was the only parent they have ever really had. I hope they get to stay with his family or at least someone he appointed to trust and take care of them.

I hear I commented on a later response but I think I need to say this. I know Joe jackson was his father but he just used those kids in the end to make money. I seen him on the BET awards and I was sick to my stomach because he wasn't acting like someone who just lost a son. He was acting like someone who could make money off of someone else's misfortune. I do hate it for those kids. There mother didn't really want them so what are they to do now. Anyways, I just think that its horrible all the way around.

I wouldn't want to deal with the crowds either. I would deal with crowds for a personal friend but not on this scale lol. I think I'll set it up to record because I won't even be home most of the day tomorrow, I'm taking my daughter to summer sounds with a friend and then she has a jazz class in the evening lol.

I don't have cable or satilite and I will be at work tomorrow while the memorial will be going on. I do know that if I could watch it then I would. I'm hoping that maybe it will wind up on YouTube and maybe I can watch it on there. I would like to see the memorial so in a way I can pay my respects for him. RIP MJ...

this maybe outdated, but i wish to respond anyways..
i actually had no intention to watch the memorial - not even sure if any of local station was going to air - 9 hours difference..
so i started to go online that midnite - i started watching from there.. and then as i 'playing' with my remote control, our satelite tv 'E!Channel' was airing the whole thing !.. so, i got offline and started watching - till the end - at 3.30AM!
my husband was furious when he found out - i watched the tv in 'almost' silent mode..
anyways - i am totally glad i watched it.. i got to watch Paris said her tributes to her Daddy - and my tears fell like rain at that point...
