I'm not sure about the rest of you mylotters but I don't like it when people respond to my discussions by just reading the title and not my discussion. I noticed this the other day when I started a discussion about medical insurance. I have gotten 2 people who responded but did not read the discussion itself. I mean come on it's not that hard to take an extra 5-10 or even 15 minutes to read the discussion itself. Does this irritate you as much as it does me? What do you do when they do that? I don't even bother telling them that they did not read the discussion it self. I give them a negative because of it. I always read the discussion itself before responding. The way I see it is that the title sometimes might not be what the discussion is about plus when you read the discussion then you know that you can have a great response because it will pretain to the discussion. So what about you mylotters, how do you feel when you get people like this? Happy Mylotting

i know what you mean because some times the title has nothing to do with what you are really saying so you need to read the whole thing before we comment on it so people should read the whole thing before they respond to it.

Exactly, I am glad that there are people who are responding to this discussion that understands how I feel.

I am guilty of this myself sometimes. If the post is too long I try to skim it to find the main points. I know I have to slow down but sometimes I just want to post quickly. Hopefully I can pick up the main points and not upset anyone. Sorry everyone!

It's ok you dont have to be hard on yourself because at least you skim through it. Because there are others that don't even skim through the discussion they just post not even having a clue.

It certainly bugs me and 9 out of 10 times I will rate them a negative without a second thought. The only time I hold back on rating a negative is if it's a new member who obviously hasn't fully got to grips with things and then I will generally leave a response to their comment explaining that they had not responded to the discussion. For me part of the reason why I come on myLot is to learn new things and so that means reading the discussions as well as others responses. If I don't have anything to say afterwards it doesn't bother me as quite often I will have learned something instead. Where as I feel some members, mainly new, feel an urge to respond to any discussion they have read just so that they can get a higher number next to their name and earn a $0.01 even if it means their response is in essence irrelevant.

That is how I feel. I will let the new members slide, but lately it has been the members that have been here for a while. I think by the time you have been here for about 2 months then you should know what to do then. I too also reads the discussions and responses and if I too have nothing to say then I just move on.
