Do You Talk To Your Pet?

I don't talk to my pets because I know that they will never understand what I'm saying. Anyway, I have heard some people talking to their pets like you and that's a good idea I guess. At least, you tried to talk to them and tell them how you feel. If animals could talk, what language would they be? And will we be shocked to learn and hear when animals talk?

yeah i talk 2 my pets,they sometimes understand what i say really,i think pets and we r the same,both biologic things so pets have the right 2 listen their master's words.

I talk to my cat all the time. I don't expect her to understand at all, I just do. I'll chat away at her, sometimes I'll respond to myself on her behalf, she'll just sit there looking at me like I'm mad. Sometimes we talk in meow talk too. If she meows and I meow back we can go on for a good 15 minutes before she gets bored with it and walks away.....

I talk to the cats all the time. Sometimes they understand, sometimes they don't. They understand basic words/concepts, they have the understanding of a 2-4 yr old, depending on their intellegence. But like a 2 yr old, they are apt to not pay attention to what you say.

So, keep talking away, they get enough of it to make it worth while.

Yes, I talk to my cats sometimes--mostly when I'm chastising them for doing something bad. But occasionally I talk to them whem I'm home alone. They seem to understand a few words -- such as "no" and "get down" and "stop". They also seem to know their names and will sometimes walk over to us for a scratch when we are talking about them and use their name.

I like to talk to my dogs and cats a lot, they understand and they do give back reaponses hehe, I like to talk to them because I think they like to have company and like to be pet and play with; I always say I'm just like their mother, I know what they want and they understand what I say!;-)

I talk to my cats all the time. I tell them how much I love then, how beautiful they are, how special they are, and how I will always worship them as the Gods that they are and that I will forever be their humble servant.

In ancient times they were worshiped as Gods and they have never forgotten that and neither have I.

I am queen of the pooper scooper, keeper of the sacred litter box. I have dedicated my life to them. I love and worship them more than any thing else in this world. I look forward to the day when cats rule the world.

I used to have dogs as pets and some gold fish, and I do used to talk to them . It is sometimes easier to talk to animals because they dont complain and they just listen to you which is good at times when we only need someone to listen to us.Yeah sometimes they do seem to give us that look but I guess even animals have the right to agree or disagree with us:)

I do. I have a dog, birds and fish and I do talk to them specially when I'm feeding them. They seem to understand me sometimes. But I particularly talk to my dog specially if he did bad thing. Well, he does hide away from me if he knows the scolding is coming so I have to call him many times before he sheepishly comes to me. When I'm in a contemplative mood, I usually silently sat and watch the birds or the fish and my dog comes to my side. I don't know if he feels what I feel and I don't have to talk to him during such time. We may not be talking sometimes but somehow the communication and the connection is there.

Hi mrakobesie,I talk to my dogs many times and they understand some things and they feel happy and when I say a certain word like "Passeio" ou "Lixo" that in English translated by Portuguese means walk outside of the house and garbage(that feels strange but it's true) they feel more happier than they are because they go outside and they can "talk" with other dogs. Well I love my dogs and if I lost one of them I would feel very sad and they are my friends and friends talk too and they share them opinion. This post is strange but it's really the true.
