Dog sitting

My mother asked me to dog sit for her at her house this weekend while she went out of town. I really don't mind much, but her internet is so slow it is annoying me. I am used to the faster cable internet. They are mostly outside dogs, so there is really not much to do except feed and water them for a few days. Do you ever dog sit or cat sit for people when they go out of town? Have you ever had to hire someone to pet sit or do you put them in a kennel?

I pet sit for a couple in my church about four years ago. But boy did that end up badly. They had a dog and a cat, so they wanted me to stay in their house while they were gone. But one night I got a horrible migraine. I went to the bathroom and before I got to the toilet I just...well, let's say I had to clean the walls. My parents came and took me to the ER. When I returned, I had to scrub that floor for over an hour. It wasn't the floor that was the real problem, it was the wallpaper! It just wouldn't come out. This same couple dog sat for me when I went away with my family for the fourth of July. They have a dog named Otto, and when I went to pick him up three days later he was happily playing with his new friend. : ) Oh, but their cat didn't take to Sherlock. lol

I dog sit sometimes for the neighbours next door so it is really just a matter of taking him for a walk each day and feed him but last time I looked after him it was winter and they have paid TV which I don't so they told me to use their TV and heater, so I did each day for a couple of hours, the dog loved it he came in the warm and watch the tv with me.

I have dog sat for my boyfriend's boss before. They don't have wireless internet in their house so the only place I was able to go online in their house is in the bedroom but there was no tv in the guest bedroom...so I either had to watch tv or be online and I'm usually doing both at the same time.
