Yo-Yo (WARNING THIS POEM SUCKS!)  |

 By my own definition this poem SUCKS... however when I began to write poetry... i sat down one night and just wrote. Of that night three of my works were born. Yo-Yo is the second one I posted here. Beauty and the Beast Being the other... lol maybe one day I'll post the third one as well (it sucks too! LOL)FYI the poem isn't REALLY about a yo-yo LOL. Without further delay...
Yo-Yo
You toss me away
Yet I always come back
Why is that?
A slight tug
at my string sends me spiraling back
Why is that?
I have no control
as I spin aimlessly
Why is that?
You play tricks
I dangle and then you snatch me back
Why is that?
Age wears the string thin
Finally it breaks and I am free
Your hold is broken; or is it?

The writing and imagery are simplistic in nature.... but I think the fact that the metaphor of being used compared to a childhood toy... it's just not going to appeal to the masses. Given that I was probably 13-14 at the time... it's not bad... but it certainly won't compare to most of my other works. | |
