What does it mean to be a very needy person?

Being needy is being dependant on someone. High maintenance means you better have an unexhaustable supply of money to keep it going. Usually the high maintenance gal carries enough flash with her that she can attract lots who are willing pay her bill. She's maybe not really so needyHuh??

To some people they might place the titles in the same category but for me I think of them as two separate things. For me being high maintenance is to need a ton of things a ton of time - mostly material like clothes, being taken out to dinner constantly, etc. For me I put needy people more in the clingy category. Those are the people that constantly need you to be around them or constantly talk to them etc.

I think so. Similar anyway. Needy i think is more, needing the other person too much. Wanting them to txt you constantly, phoning up all the time and not giving them any space of their own. High mainanance is more reqiring the attention 24/7. A healthy balance of each plus some time to spend apart i think is important for a relationship. Why do you ask?

well as for me, being a needy person is in need basic needs in life.Someone who barely got something or almost have nothing.

I do not think they mean the same things... There are many needy people who are not high maintenance. I think that a needy person is just a person who requires a lot of attention from others. Such as a person who needs thier family or spouses attention at all times. Ones who can never go anywhere alone, or do anything alone. They just need a lot of time, energy and effort from another person! High maintenance people can be needy as well, but they also require the finest things in life. They are not okay shopping where normal people shop, or having general name brands, they need the have the most expensive high dollar things that you could possibly have!
