Before they were really famous?

Hi thedailyclick, I do like to do that and remember getting a big kick a few years ago when I saw the Barbara Streisand, Robert Redford film 'The Way we Were' again. There was my favourite actor of all time, James Woods, playing a very dorky escort to Barbara Streisand. He didn't have much of a role as it was definitely way before he got famous. I wouldn't have paid attention the first time around until Mr Woods began to get better parts which made him stand out.

Hmm, I don't recall ever watching movies of anyone before they were famous, but at the same time I don't pay much attention to what movie made a person famous, or what year a particular movie came out. I do like seeing how different someone looked way back when. I recently watched all the Indiana Jones movies and couldn't believe how young Harrison Ford was in those movies!

Definitely. I love to watch older movies that Gary Oldman did. I think it is fascinating to see just what kinds of roles lead up to and eventually make certain actors and actresses famous.

I actually saw "American Flyers" when it first came out and I recall at the time really liking Kevin Costner, who I'd never heard of before. Did you know he'd gotten what he'd thought to be his "big break" in "The Big Chill"? He played the guy whose funeral they were all attending and his scenes got cut. I guess he was in the casket at the funeral but I don't think you could see him at all and he - obviously - didn't speak any lines.

For my own contribution to this post, I just watched "Youngblood" with Rob Lowe a few days ago and was surprised to see a VERY young Keanu Reeves in it. That's another movie I'd seen before but it had been over 20 years ago.
