Will my fiance find a real job anytime soon? And will we be able to get a house within the next 12 months?

I do feel that your finace will be able to get employement for the Christmas rish, if he goes and VERY activly persues this right away... I would highly recommend this, as I see an opportunity for a job he thinks of as short term to turn into something more.
I would hold off on your house search right now... focus on getting your finances straight. You have a tendency to want things quicky, that are not quality.
