Are there times you don't report to the office even if you are not really sick?

Yes I have called in sick when Im not really sick. Sometimes I just cant take going to work. Like I phyiscally can't get out of bed and make myself go. Sometimes I call in sick when Im not cause I just have way to much stuff to do and I need a day off to get everything done.

One time I took a second day off from work after I'd had some dental work done, but it wasn't because I didn't want to go to work but because I wanted an excuse not to attend a shower that some of the women at work were having for a fellow employee. I liked the honoree, but I just didn't want to go to the shower. I did, however, send a gift.

I've never done that yet - I would just feel too guilty knowing that it would mean extra work for my colleagues. We are short-staffed often enough as it is. I think it depends on the job you do - ours has to be covered 24/7 and the work has to be done however few staff are there.
