what does a badge say?

I think it says whatever the wearer believes it says. It may mean nothing to you but it may be a sign of someone's pride in their work, of recognition of their loyalty. That number on the badge is not 'stupid' to those people and I think its rude and arrogant to belittle other people's achievements.It could be that those people have no wish to be a manager. I would say that being a manager is not necessarily a sign of being a good worker - it is easy to be the manager if you have a good team of people carrying out the ground level work. (No, I don't work in retail, nor do I have any numbered badges)

I don't think they are wearing it because they thing they are better than anyone else. I think they are wearing it with pride, at least I would.

When I worked at Target, we would receive a "bulls eye" to add to our nametag! That was exciting!

I am going to be a new employee at Walmart and very excited! No matter what a badge represents, I think it's the person on the inside.

As long as my badge clocks me in and out for my shift, so I can collect my paycheck, I could care less what else or anyone thought of my badge. BTW, I use to work for Wal-Mart and most of the Managers, at the store I was employed, would almost never wear their badges, unless the "big boss" decides to visit the store.
