theirs a mylotter that makes a big deal out of this discussion about not putting our true faces in the avatar.for me it depends to the person..and we can never force them to put one..maybe its for their own privacy ..and actually its not a big deal at all...we must respect them cause for their own reasons....what you think?is it a big deal to you too?

Hi acie_21,
I do not consider it as a big deal, although i always not put my face in the avatar. I consider it is unnecessary to put my face on internet. I am normal persons, no need to show myself. Just being a normal person may be better for us.
Happy mylotting!

It's one's free will to publish her/his real face in the avatar. Most sites are very flexible on the avatar requirement and in some ways they respect those people who want to remain anonymous. It is no big deal to me, but actually I prefer a profile with avatar, doesn't matter it's the owner real face or not, at least there is an image there...

I don't think it is a bid deal to use my face as avatar. I have done that in many social networking websites like orkut and facebook. At the same time we all are using masks in social places like this and we don't like to completely remove those masks. So, I don't prefer to use my face here now, but I don't mind it. I might use it sometime later.

I think it really depends on the person. Personally, I won't post photos of me on the internet unless you can't see my face. I don't mind shots as long as I'm turned away or my face is covered or whatever. That's just how I was raised. We like to be safe rather than sorry and there's not really anyone online that needs to see what I look like anyway. All of my friends already know what I look like and my friends online have been in video chat with me at some time or another over IM, so I really don't feel the need to post my pictures.
But that doesn't mean that I think people shouldn't post their pictures, either. If you're comfortable with it then, by all means, go ahead! There's not really anything wrong with it as long as you're somewhat careful about your information and everything. :)

I don't want anyone to know who I am, I like being anonymous, so I might post my pregnant belly, but I won't put my face on here. Maybe its cause I had a stalker once, and I never know where he might pop up! So, I just keep anonymous on the internet, and I try to change my password and email that I used for these accounts once or twice a month.
