back to school

ok, school here has been out since the end of june but stores in my area have been advertising back to school stuff for a couple of weeks already!
we went to the mall on sunday and lots of stores have back to school stuff and even winter stuff out (like hats and mitts!)
how soon is too soon? my kids go back the second week of september and i realize that stores have their fall merchandise already but here in canada, our summer is short as it is, don't rush it!

Here, classes start on june and ends on march. Needless to say, we are close to our first quarter now and preparing for the exam. The only vacation we can get is the Christmas vacation and though school year just opened, we are counting the days for the vacation to start.

Cher....they have to do this now...so the middle of August, they can start Hallowe'en....and the middle of September~~~it's Christmas already!
I guess I will have a real eye-opener then, this weekend, I have not been off this small Island since the end of February, and here I was going to buy some summer clothes. LOL! Guess I will have to buy winter socks & toques & mittens, then!

I agree, why rush a good thing. We still have a little over a month of summer left. The stores here in Pa have all the school supplies out as well. It seems that the stores put a rush on all the seasonal happenings whether it be school or the holidays. I have not seem winter coats and hats yet but I have seen the school clothes and other Fall items on the shelves.
One of my Nieces was just asking her mother the other day about shopping and what she wants (needs) for her locker.(a new mirror, mini note board...). I was laughing not believing my ears, a 12 yr old girl thinking about going back to school in mid July! Now that is weird! She loves school and anxious to see some of her friends. I told her I would take her to their house. She laughed.
Stores do get carried away every season and with the economy the way it is, maybe that is a good thing this year. Many families can start a little earlier to spread the cost of school supplies in a period of 2 months.

OMG! I know how you feel. I don't live in Canada or anything but my school gets out at the begginning of June, and actually this summer has sucked! Its been rainy and like spring most the times. Its only been like 90 degrees or above for only like 2 weeks of days. Even the Fourth of July was rainy. Its going to be my senior year this year and I'm dreading going back. I didn't get to live up my summer now I have to start shopping for back to school. Its so not fun!
