What if your bosses knew you were chatting?

Most companies never allow their employees to chat online during office hour. But most of us did that with or without their knowledge. What if one of these days suddenly your boss saw your YM windows with lengthy messages? Or perhaps... mentioning about them to your fellow chatters? Will he/shee kick you or join you?

Well I own business now and work from home, so I am my own boss, and I don't mind a bit if I chat.. I can not imagine too many bosses being pleased about it though. If one of my employees were chatting and there was work to be done I would be upset. If there was time to waste it would be OK, but I believe employees can always find productive things to do. My last boss would have blown a gasket she was a b**** anyways. I never would have had time to chat anyways. I always kept busy.

If my boss caught that I were chatting during work time, he would give me detention. I always try to avoid doing that because it is not polite, and not respect others.

I use the computer sometimes during work hours, however, I don't have enough time to chat or to surf on myLot or anything like it. Maybe checking news or mail, but not anything that takes more then 1-2 minutes.
