Do you turn off your computer when you're done for the night?

I usually get off about 10 PM so after that, I usually turn it off since it will end up being off until about 8 AM. It used to be on all day and all night but since it wasn't getting used at night, we decided "what is the use of it being on if no one is using it?" so we started turning it off when we go to bed.

I turn my computer off when I go to bed. I think leaving it on even in sleep mode wastes more energy than just starting it back up again in the morning. Besides, my computer seems to have a problem with overheating, so I turn it off to keep it cool, among other things.

I turn mine off since I don't use it in my sleep. I do also use my computer right after waking up, but it only takes a short while to start up, so I don't see the point in wasting electricity to save that tiny bit of time.

Yes. Also when I have to go to college. I only use it for 5 hours during the mornings and another 5 hours in the evenings and I turn in off all those hours in between.
As much as I'd love to leave my computer downloading, the weather is too hot here and I'm afraid my PC would die of overheat.

I have a laptop so it shuts off when I close it. I keep it in a drawer to keep the cats off of it!

Now that I have a laptop, I always shut it down and let it charge all night. When I had my old lady computer, I would also shut it down every night, thinking that somehow after a good night's sleep she would suddenly work faster the next day. I was always wrong, she was still as slow as a snail walking through molasses

I usually turn my computer off when i go to bed and turn it back on when i get up.

Well My pc is 24h/7 and unless the pc broke down ..It will stay 24h a day..

wow its can be a great record for a personal computer..normally i'll do that online on the weekend or went i'm getting long holiday

I use to leave mine own all night. But now I switch it of when I go to bed. Saves power.:o)
