What if Devil is the true God?

What if the God that is being worshipped is really the Devil and the so-called Devil is actually God?
Maybe it happened like this :
The Devil rebelled against God. He told God that he can do better than God. Kind-hearted God allowed the Devil to reign in his place for a long period of time and God himself retired from work, at least for the time being.
Now, the cunning Devil not only declared himself God, but also said that he was the only true God and only he should be worshipped. All other Gods are false. He made it appear that lies are truth and truth is lie.
Now, the true God watches all this. He tries to tell people that the Devil is playing tricks and not to follow the Devil's teachings.
Cunning Devil now spreads the word that Devil (actually, God) is the tempter and is tempting humans, to lure them away from himself.

That sounds kind of like the basis of Traditional Satanism, which I am actually into right now. It is sort of different though. In Traditional Satanism, Satan, [also known as Enki, and a few other things, depends on what individuals chose to call him] did actually create us. The Bible is irrelevant and has nothing to do with him; it is false. It drove people away from advancing and learning to take care of themselves. Traditional Satanists are able to use meditation to gain power to heal themselves and whoever they'd like, destroy those that attack them, all sorts of things like that. I have only read and discussed experiences such as these online, but I do feel it, and I have felt the effects of it in me and around me. Christianity was created after Satanism-like religions, to prevent people from having any power to help themselves. People are afraid of witches, or are ignorant to magic. This is why they have those priests on television healing people and doing exorcisms- they don't really know what they're doing, that is why it seldom works and people can get killed or injured in exorcisms. And that's why they never teach anyone else to do it.

Really, Sheepie! I tell you: We are indeed living in the last days! The theories people will come up with to justify their ideas! Tsk, tsk, tsk!

Though anything is possible these days, the fact remains that there is a Supreme, Almighty One, in control of everything! I believe the Bible speaks of the devil as being the god of the earth. On the other hand, however, I do not think that the devil, as we are told and understand, would care about people loving and respecting one another, as the holy texts teach us. If the devil is God and God is the devil, then we shall some day know. But for the time being, I will continue to do those things which the Bible teaches me are appropriate and I deem right. As far as I am concerned, any book that instructs people to love and respect each other is a good book!

This sounds familiar to all the semetic holy books, prophets and religious claims. the concept of devil as an anti-thesis of god is again of a semetic origin. probably your statement has a lot of truth in it. Your question has lot of strength in it and it needs a courageous man to look straight at the truth and say so. God will never ask his subjects to worship him. What is the need? But devil will do that. HE has a ego to satisfy and he wants to gain respectability, which he do not have. So he created these confusing religious systems and dogmas.

Hello Frederick!!!
Yes, why can't that be. We can all be in illusion. Why is that not possible if the story being told in this world is true?
