she say that her critics are very scared and say bad things about her and she prove them wrong.i know that in her speech she is saying things that is saying about a former president and others but she not naming names.she also say that "i will step down from this stage, but i will not step down from the presidency. My term will end at 2010.". she also say that she has not expressed that she will want to stay in the office after 2010.that is all i remember about the controversial things.

2.  rsa101 (7332) | 5 months ago |  I missed it too but is not so interested in knowing the whole thing as when I arrived home from work the news has it and of course in a much shorter version already. Those important words that she delivered that are just hints to what she plans for her last term. The thing I was interested is she declaring she is going to step down in 2010. Although some says it was not categorically said that she will step down. Different politicians have their different interpretation on her speech of course. As to her plans to run for Congress next year that is to be seen. I am seeing that she is mum about that and never heard in her speech that she has intended to run for such position. I think we can only hope she can stand by her words till May 2010.

We all know that she had been getting all those attacks from the opposition. Apart from that, there was the usual report on all those things that she had accomplished while in power. And one thing that we should take note of is her hanging remark on whether she will stay in power or not. It was not categorically stated.

The Philippines is a poor country who is made more poorer by these politicians. No words from the president can ease the burden the country is carrying.

Or won't it be better if the people would act too? I'm not an avid supporter of the president, or anyone in politics, but don't you think things are getting absurd, with the people always blaming their worries on the government, yet they are not acting for their betterment?

| kate635 (72) | 4 months ago | In part, your are right because there are a lot of Filipinos too who are not helping themselves the very reason why they are stuck in an uncomfortable situation; yet there are a lot of Filipinos too who work tirelessly to contribute not only to their family's coffers but also for the Philippine economy as well. OFWs around the globe is a plain example of this. But the economy still suffers and that is because of corruption in the government. What is lacking here is the political will of those who are in position. The president should not be the only one to blame but she carries the burden of the responsibility. | |
