Learn a new language/dialect, BAD words first?

Okay, i heard this from many friends who tried to learn some other language or dialect, they told me that, " The first thing i learn is the bad words!". Is it true? A vivid example, i have friends who don't know english at all. But they know "Fu*k you" and "Sh*t" or "Mother Fu*ker". Stranger, huh? So, what do you say?

Its true... well kinda. I'm learning japanese, and one of the ways to learn it is to listen to it, so i watch japanese anime, and i know most of the bad words in japanese. Maybe because the characters say these words with the most coolest way, that attracts attention more than other words. Of course in a proper class, we first learn 'my name is..' kind of stuff. but we students will ask the teachers what does this mean, i heard it on the anime. and we learn it faster. Weird i know.

Hi there, i am totally agree with you. In the movie, when people say the bad words, they have more style, either they are angry or something, you are more easy to get into it.

hahaha...somehow i feel its true! hehehe well i am just speaking about myself...coz i remember when i am just starting to learn the dialect my husband and his family is speaking...i try tp know first all the bad words! not because i like saying bad words, but only because i want to know those words so that if i hear someone telling me those words...atleast i know that they are saying bad words to me...hehehe and for me its good, coz it protects me from being 'sold'! hehehe
