Does religious symbol represent you are a religious person?

A religious symbol is something which everyone has to respect. Therefore, if someone wears it as a fashion statement or just for fun, then he or she has no respect for the religion.

In addition, wearing are religious symbol is not an indication that a person is pious or religious. It shows the faith in which that person believes - like what you've mentioned. The wearer may or may not be religious.

If I wear a religious symbol does not necessarily means that I am a religious person, I remember once I wore something on my wrist as my parents were forcing to me wear and some people at work thought it was a fashionable wrist band because it looked so modern with the designs and some friends who met me later teased me for being a sage as they understood it was perhaps something religious. So what I want to say is that even if someone is wearing a religious symbol it does not mean that he is a religious person entirely as he can be wearing that for fashion only and nowadays these symbols are so design that they look more fashionable than religious. Maybe it is so to let people who are ashamed of the symbols to wear it without being shy.

No, I do not believe that. I have many options as I am a Hindu. Even then I do not wear anything to give away my religious bent.

To a certain extent I do agree that wearing a religious symbol represents your values and the intrinsic belief systems. They also make you part of a larger community.:)
