crochet a classic hobby passed on to me by my mom since i was 10 years old. my first crochet experience was making a portion of the matrimonial bedspread that my mom made as a wedding gift for my cousin. since then, i enjoyed the craft. my passion did spark and my mom made it possible for me to make one blouse after several sessions of basic crochet techniques to practical designs and later challenged me to make my own style. now i am proud to say that i have my own small crochet business local and international). i too, considered this as a stress management...at the same an alternative livelihood -- EARNING WHILE RESTING" thanks mom for your patience and for believing in me... yes, it all started with a single chain!!!

I learned about crocheting back in grade school, it was part of our home economics subject, we were required to make a doily. I liked it at first, I actually went on to make about 2 table runners and 2 doilies, but i kind of got tired after some time. Hats off to you for having the patience and perseverance in creating intricately designed crocheted items. The fact that you earn from a hobby you enjoy makes it all the more worthwhile. Who knows, this skill could bring you riches! Happy myLotting!

That's really a neat story :-) My grandma taught me how to crochet when I was young too, but I never made anything for money. I've made scads of afghans and baby outfits over the years lol. My Mom taught me how to sew though, and I've been an avid sewer ever since. I make mostly my own curtains, slipcovers and stuff like that. When my girls were little I made a lot of their clothes and of course, doll clothes. Sounds like your mom was very wise encouraging you to do your own styling. That makes what you do unique! Like they say, do what you love and the money will follow, and that's evident for you since you have your own business with it. I see you're new, so welcome to myLot...lots of nice people here:-) Joy

hi joy! thanks! it all started as a hobby but was developed into a "productive hobby" and at the same time stress management for me. imagine while doing it you can already see signs of peso and dollar... that's amazing right? so i encourage you to continue doing some and sell it especially during summer lots of my friends and customers preferred sleeveless clothes/dresses. goodluck i know you can do it!
