Can you cope with serious losses?

Loss of any thing is hard to cope up with. If the loss is of a dear one then it takes a lot of time to get back to normal state.

Keep quite and reserved during the time and try not to think of the reasons. Time is the greatest healer.

I lost dad last month. I can't believe it even now. Losing money can be earned again but losing a dear one is irreversible. It is just too hard to bear.

I manage by indulging in some work and activity otherwise I just start remembering dad and incidents and that is too painful with the fact that he is not around now.

I used to think I am strong and I can handle anything emotionally but this was the biggest shock and I still haven't overcome it.

I think it changes a person bit and one can never be same again.

I have faced many such situation.First I will be busted for few hours, do nothing, I will keep my mouth shut, no food, no drink.After some hours I will take it as a fate then gradually turn myself to normal situations. Like this it is happening frequently. 3 weeks back my company made me hold on from joining. It was painful and after 5 hours I started rescue myself.

I think that I have handled the losses in my life better than I had imagined. Sometimes I have thought about losses that might happen in the future, and at that time I was sure that I wouldn't be able to a handle losing those people. I thought that I wouldn't be able to go on withhout those people, but that wasn't true, and when the things that I feared actually happened, I was able to get through it, even though it was really hard and painful. I know that losses are always painful, but the experience has taught me something, and I know that I am sometimes capable of getting through things that seem impossible, and I think it is possible for me to learn to cope with difficult situations.

Hi vijayanths, I agree that life is full of uncertainties but such is life in the real world. Sometimes the news is good and sometimes it's bad and we all react differently. Nothing of course, compares with the lost of a dear one but it is often at such times that we discover that we have more strength than we thought. Blessings

Hi Vijay...Yes, we are all called upon at some point to deal with devastating losses. Faith, prayer, and time help me cope, as well as doing whatever I can to regain certain losses, but the loss of a loved one...that is the hardest loss of all.

Just yesterday, my wallet was stolen. I don't know if i misplaced it or I left it on a PUJ I was riding. When I check on it at home I then found out my wallet was not there. Of course I am sad, because the money in the wallet is my allowance, now I don't know how can I get money to replace it. We have to accept that we are not always a winner when it comes to everything, although we can be prepared for it physically we can never be prepared emotionally. We just have to accept that, that is life. It is like a wheel. I have to start over after losing something. When it comes to losing my pet, it is very traumatic and tragic to me, because I love them all. A part of me dies too. As I said I have to start over and save my love to the pets that will come a long my life at present, but it is always tragic.

Even though it is hard to recover,we have to cope with all the losses in life.There is tomorrow for us and we have to live today for that.Time is the best medicine for any loss.We should have the mental strength to fight against any loss and that can be received from our best friends and family members.Cheers!

Hello dear,

I lost my two granny(mother side and father side)same year.I was still mourning for my grandma(mother side)after 3 months,my other granny died.It was real hard time for me.
Then came another loss,and another.(i don't want to elaborate furthermore friend,i guess you know well what i mean)

I learned from those losses,ACCEPTANCE,it is one of the most healing word i have known.We can cry,mourn,cry,....then...accept reality,...that no matter how we cried,it was done...we cannot turn back the hands of time.
