Ambrosia is a mythical name for the nectar of the gods. Who wouldn't want to eat something like that? Even atheists will enjoy this delicious creamy concoction of mandarin oranges, pineapple, oranges and tiny puffed marshmallows. I've provided a recipe for Coconut Ambrosia below! It is a very easy recipe to follow and no baking is required. This is also a great variation on traditional fruit salads. Please add your delicious variations of Ambrosia if you are also a fan. 1/2 of an 11 oz. can of drained mandarin oranges 1/2 of an 8 oz. can of drained pineapple chunks, it can also be crushed for a finer texture 1/2 c. maraschino cherries 1 1/3 c. frozen whipped topping like cool whip, thawed 1 c. shredded coconut 1 c. miniature marshmallows (the colorful ones look lovely in the springtime) 1/4 c. milk In a large bowl, combine all of the ingredients except the maraschino cherries. Mix well, and chill until one hour before you serve it. Add the maraschino cherries on top for a lovely garnish!

Ambrosia is very good. I like it. You can also make it with rice. I have heard it described as glorified rice. It is basically the same thing but you are making it with rice. I think that it is a good product and something that I would look forward to eating.

My mom use to make this but it was a little different - she used oranges, grapefruits, bananas, marachino cherries and coconut, with a little bit of lemon juice. Its delicious.
